The Rage Jiu-jitsu team competed at the Copa Nova Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament in Ashburn on August 1st.
- Head Jiu-Jitsu Instructor David Trader won the Men’s Advanced Lightweight Divsion, closing it out with a triangle submission victory over Yamasaki Jiu-Jitsu black belt Luis Pantoja.
- Michelle Welti placed first in the Women’s White Belt Heavyweight division and second in her Women’s Advanced No-Gi division.
- Mitch Freeman, competing in his first tournament, placed second in the Men’s Beginner Absolute No-Gi division.
- Bill Nagle won his first two matches, finishing fourth while fighting through an injury. Ryan Wright gained valuable experience competing in his first tournament. Look for Ryan and Bill to bring home some medals in their next competitions.
